Dr. Dan Brod graduated from Kansas State University in 1983 and co-founded Deer Creek Animal Hospital in 1984. His main interests are in orthopedic surgery and in cardiology. He was the first veterinarian in the Denver area to perform ultrasounds and has taught many veterinarians the skill. In the early years, he would spend a lot of his time off at Children’s Hospital with the ultrasound technicians to gain more expertise in the area.

The majority of his time now is spent in the area of orthopedics. Dan has become proficient in the skill of arthroscopy, which is a minimally invasive surgical approach to the joints. He also has worked with other veterinarians in this field to help improve their skills at arthroscopy.

Dan says, “This is a great profession! I love the long-time relationships I have built with my clients. There are so many great clients that I have continued to see throughout my career, and I have the wonderful opportunity to see their children with their pets and, in some instances, their children’s children with pets. I treat my patients as if they were my own pets. My wife and I do not have children, and we fully understand the important roles that pets play in our lives.”

Dan lives in the Littleton foothills with his wife, Val, their dogs, Gator and Eli, and their cat, Cheeto.
