VCA Northwood Animal Hospital located in Anderson is open for your pet 24 hours every day. One of the outstanding features of our veterinary hospital is the competent round-the-clock care for your pet. We never know when illness or injury may strike, so we are here when you need us. VCA Northwood Animal Hospital is really three practices in one.

The Local Practice for routine care for your pets, the Emergency Practice for night time, weekend or holiday care and the Surgical Referral Practice for those surgeries your general veterinarian prefers to send to us.

The Local Practice: Three veterinarians are available to care for the health needs of your pets. These veterinarians focus on preventive medicine and the treatment of illnesses that your pet may encounter. They also provide routine and elective surgery and dentistry. They provide the foundation of your pet's good health and your enjoyment of your pet. This segment of the practice is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm each weekday and from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon each Saturday.

The Emergency Practice: Several veterinarians, on a rotating basis, provide the essential emergency room type care when your regular veterinarian is not available. They do not provide routine health care or vaccinations as we believe your veterinarian should be providing those services for you. The sick and injured pets that come to Northwood Veterinary Hospital are cared for by these veterinarians and the technicians that assist them every night, every weekend, and every holiday.

The Surgical Referral Practice: Two experienced veterinarians devote their time solely to the surgical care of dogs and cats. Whether the surgery required is orthopedic, neurosurgical or soft tissue, they have the experience and training to help your pet in most cases. Their technical staff also focuses their attention only on the surgical patients in the hospital. The requirements of this practice have led to the acquisition of a large number of specialized instruments and implants to allow the specialized procedures to be performed.
