Emergency and after-hours care for your dog or cat when you need it most.
VCA Dekalb Gwinnett Animal Emergency Hospital is conveniently located to serve areas such as Decatur, Tucker, Lilburn, Snellville, Stone Mountain, Norcross, and Duluth. We have been serving the after-hour needs of patients and veterinarians for over thirty years. Our experienced and dedicated veterinarians and staff are trained to handle the emergency needs of your dog or cat during hours that your day-time veterinarian may be closed. We understand that accidents, injuries and illness do not always occur during normal business hours. Our team of talented and compassionate staff are available to you every night, weekend and holiday to ensure that expert care is always available to you.
Our facility is equipped to provide in-house laboratory diagnostics and digital radiology to aid in providing the right care for your pet as soon as possible. We also have the experience and facility to handle most surgical emergencies on site, again avoiding delays in care. Our staff is trained to provide your pet with the highest quality care whether they are receiving inpatient or outpatient treatment. During your visit, we will educate you on your pet’s condition and work with you to make treatment decisions that work best for family. Most emergencies will require follow up care with your regular veterinarian. At the time of your pets discharge we provide details of your pets care both to you and your day-time veterinarian to ensure a smooth transition of care.
We understand that emergencies can never be planned for and are often a time of extreme emotional distress for pet owners. Our team will work quickly to triage your pet and communicate to you any issues or procedures that require immediate attention. Just as in a human emergency room, we must treat life-threatening emergencies first. This may result in a waiting period for more stable patients. However, our doctors and staff are dedicated to giving you and your pet our full attention, and answering all of your questions and concerns about your pet’s condition.
