Dr. James Hoglund has been practicing companion animal medicine and surgical care in the DFW area since 2008. He comes to Family Pet Clinic of Richland Hills bringing with him 15+ years of multidisciplinary veterinary experience, with practice area expertise spanning animal wellness/preventive care, surgery, dermatology, dentistry, internal medicine, and emergency/critical care for companion animals both large and small.

Prior to joining the Family Pet Clinic of Richland Hills team, Dr. Hoglund spent four years as a supervising veterinarian within a busy emergency and referral animal hospital. He worked closely with Board-Certified Surgeons and Critical Care Specialists on a broad array of complex cases, developing well-honed expertise in providing life-saving emergency and surgical care treating toxic ingestions, traumatic injuries, and severe/chronic illnesses. His previous work includes veterinary positions within private practice and public health settings, including roles as lead veterinarian, Level II-certified equine dentist, and state veterinary technician for the Iowa State Racing & Gaming Commission.
