Dr. Cassandra Thomas grew up in Howard County, MD. She obtained her Bachelor of Science from Sweet Briar College in Virginia and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. After vet school, Dr. Thomas joined a progessive hospital in Virginia where she worked for 12 and a half years. In 2014, she moved to Florida and joined the staff of Courtenay Animal Hospital. Dr. Thomas has a special interest in nutrition, surgery, advanced diagnostics and exotic animal care.

When she is not at the animal hospital, Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time with her family and pets including a deaf dalmatian named Sherman, 4 cats and 1 snake. She also enjoys the beach, boating, and wildlife photography.
