Dr. Trysh Hamilton grew up in South Florida and graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Although she always loved animals and wanted to become a veterinarian, she took a somewhat circuitous route to accomplish her dream.

In the eighties, Trysh left college and moved to Islamorada in the Florida Keys where she worked at a boat rental as an outboard mechanic. This is where she met her husband, Andy. Eventually, she moved on to become a technician at one of the local veterinary clinics and this is where her true calling became apparent.

Encouraged by both her husband and her employer, Dr. Hamilton re-enrolled in UF as an undergraduate and worked tirelessly to complete the prerequisites needed to apply to vet school. She was accepted and started classes in 1995. During her schooling she worked as an animal technician for Shands and, later, as one of the nighttime technicians in the small animal ICU.

After graduation, Dr. Hamilton joined the Countryside staff in August of 1999 and she has been with us ever since. She loves practicing general medicine and surgery, and helping owners give their pets the best care possible.

Dr. Hamilton shares her home with Andy, their dog Patches (the best hole-digger in the South), her nice cat (Foxy), her mean cat (Todd), and several tropical fish including Gordon the betta. She and Andy enjoy traveling, the outdoors, and Gator sports
