Dr. Robin Valentine

Dr. Valentine earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Prior to veterinary school, she completed her bachelor's degree from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, majoring in Neuroscience and Behavior, with a focus on Animal Behavior. She gained experience as a Veterinary Emergency and Infectious Disease Nurse at the North Shore Animal League in Port Washington, as well as at New York City’s Animal Medical Center.

After completing her veterinarian degree and multi-state licensure in 2002, she continued her clinical experience and education as an intern in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston. Dr. Valentine then practiced as a full-time emergency and critical care clinician in Northern Virginia/ DC and South Florida over the next eight years, also providing coverage for a number of local small animal hospitals. In 2009, Dr. Valentine joined forces with Dr. Ted Leif at Boca Teeca Vet Hospital to handle all after-hours client emergencies, while starting her own Veterinary Mobile Housecall service. She continues to serve Palm Beach County and Broward with Housecall Services and Holistic Integrative Medicine. Her special medical interests include neurology and behavior, holistic and herbal medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, critical and intensive care fluid therapy, pediatric and neonatal care, soft tissue surgery, and surgical management of soft tissue trauma. Dr. Valentine also works and teaches for the state of Florida, on the SARC team for emergency response animal rescue. In addition to routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering, dewclaw removal, and dental surgery, Dr. Valentine is well-trained and versatile in exploratory abdominal surgery, soft tissue mass and tumor removal, trauma and wound surgery and management, as well as basic orthopedic procedures. She frequently handles oncology (cancer) patients with special care and many conventional and holistic options.

In her free time, Dr. Valentine volunteers her skills and knowledge to community animal shelters, wildlife rescue, and domestic rescue organizations. She greatly enjoys the fabulous Florida outdoors, the ocean, horseback riding (English hunter/jumpers), exploring South Florida’s flora and fauna, and frolicking with her two Alaskan Malamutes on the nearby beaches. Other long time interests include study of Eastern cultures and belief systems, various yoga
disciplines, and Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques and rationale.
