Katy is a Certified Veterinary Assistant, receiving her certificate from Middlesex Community College in March of 2011. After graduating from the program she jumped into the veterinary field with both feet, gathering experience in veterinary reception, client communication, assisting, radiology, surgery, and emergency. Her interests lie in client education, nutrition, and internal medicine.

She is currently our certified nutritional counselor for therapeutic diets as well as growth and maintenance diets for dogs and cats.  Katy is the proud owner of two very spoiled American Pit Bull Terriers – Callie and Athena. Callie was Katy's inspiration for entering into the veterinary field back in April 2010, and Athena is the most recent addition to her family in October 2012. She started off as a sick little pup that needed a home and has now grown into a big, clumsy ball of energy that just wants to be loved and enjoys annoying her big sister. Since day one, Katy and Callie have been inseparable and they have a very special bond. Ever since Callie came into Katy’s life, she has been very passionate about responsible ownership and about being an advocate for the "bully breeds". She hopes to help end the unfair stereotypes and myths surrounding “pit bulls” and show people how loyal, intelligent, friendly, goofy, charismatic, and affectionate these wonderful dogs are. When she is not playing or cuddling with her two girls you can find Katy enjoying a good book, spending time with friends, or looking for an adventure.
