Dr. Vlakancic joined our medical team in 2013 after completing a year-long rotating internship at VCA Aurora and VCA Berwyn Specialty Hospitals in internal medicine, emergency medicine and surgery. During her internship year Dr. Vlakancic worked as a primary emergency doctor and had the opportunity to work with various specialists including cardiology, neurology, dermatology, oncology, radiology, internal medicine and critical care. Prior to her internship, Dr. Vlakancic attended the University of Illinois where she earned both her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences with a minor in Chemistry and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Vlakancic lives in St. Charles with her husband, Jake and their two rescue dogs, Duke (a Retriever/newfoundland mix) and Keely (a Great Pyrenees). In her free time, she enjoys long distance running, biking, being outdoors, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
