Dr. Allison Peckham hails from Ottawa, Canada but considers herself a citizen of the world. Raised in the provinces of Ontario and Nova Scotia, she graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec with a Bachelor of Science in Environment specializing in Biodiversity and Conservation. During these university years, Dr. Peckham spent a summer working in Paris and exploring France. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Dr. Peckham worked at the Canadian Museum of Nature as an Educator. Always having been passionate about veterinary medicine and adventure, she moved to Scotland to pursue her dream. With numerous European and North American externships and expeditions under her belt, she graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2008 and returned to Ottawa to work as an emergency and critical care veterinarian at one of the largest referral hospitals in Canada. Dr. Peckham moved to California in 2013 to be closer to her family who imigrated from Canada over a decade ago and is proud to be part of the Westlake Village Animal Hospital family. When not working she enjoys spending time with family, friends and her miniature dachshund Vinyl, as well as taking in the arts, yoga, skiing, tennis, golf and planning her explorations locally and abroad.
