Dr. Clyons spent most of her childhood years in San Diego where her love of animals was encouraged by her parents. Volunteer work at the local animal shelter when she was just 13 years of age made an everlasting impression and that point became committed to a career in animal welfare.

She attended the University of California at Davis where she received a B.S. in Evolution and Ecology as well as a Minor in Art History. Afterwards she moved to the Bay Area to work at several small animal hospitals and after a few years became a Registered Veterinary Technician. In 2001 she went abroad to realize her dream of becoming a veterinarian.

She graduated from the University of London's Royal Veterinary College in 2006 and returned to the SF SPCA  to start practice as a shelter veterinarian. She has since developed her skills in general practice, emergency and critical care medicine, feline internal medicne, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry.

Dr. Clyons lives with her two cats in Oakland. Enjoys worldwide travel, surfing, hiking, playing and listening to music.  She has been with VCA Albany since May 2013.
