Dr. Rebecca Poillion was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University, where she graduated from Veterinary Medical School in 2008. She then practiced for two years as an Associate Veterinarian at Durango Animal Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. During her academic career, she completed an internship at the Houston Zoo Veterinary Hospital where she developed an interest in exotic animal medicine. Her professional interests include surgery, internal medicine and working with small mammals, birds, reptiles and aquatic animals.

Dr. Poillion joined the Rose Rock team in June of 2010. She moved to Norman to be closer to family. She currently lives with her sister, Jessica, and her 6-year-old niece, Annie. She has a small herd consisting of four rescued mutts named Kiona, Scott, Loki, and Scout, two cats named Fletch and Elwood, and an Anolis Lizard named Echo. In her spare time she enjoys listening to live music, cycling, hiking, skiing, reading, and watching movies. Dr. Poillion is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association, and Central Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association.
