Dr. Blazek was born and raised in Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma State University and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. After graduation, she moved to St. Louis, Missouri and worked in small animal hospitals. Towards the end of 1999, she returned to Oklahoma to be closer to family and worked as a relief veterinarian for a number of small animal hospitals in the Oklahoma City area, including an emergency hospital.

Dr. Blazek, whose professional interests include infectious diseases, particularly tick-borne illness, and wound closure, joined Rose Rock Veterinary Hospital in March 2003. She decided to become a veterinarian in grade school and enjoys knowing she has made a difference in pets' lives, and in their families' lives. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association, and Central Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association, and she is an active member of her church.

Dr. Blazek is married to Eric, a website designer and computer programmer, and together they have two children. Joshua, 11, is a Boy Scout and enjoys reading and building things. Elizabeth, 9, likes reading, writing and crafts of all kinds. Dr. Blazek, who enjoys gardening, reading, baking, hiking and camping and spending time with her children, shares her home with a domestic short hair named Crystal.
