Dr. Hawthorne is an eastern North Carolina native.  She obtained her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from North Carolina State University and then graduated from NC State's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 with Dr. Montgerard.  After vet school she completed a small animal internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists in Atlanta.  Dr. Hawthorne moved to the Charlotte area with her husband in 2007 and has worked in Cabarrus county prior to working at Fullwood Animal Hospital.  Dr. Hawthorne also works with Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice providing in-home end of life care to pets.  She has 2 young children, 2 old dogs, and 2 crazy cats.
