The Roanoke Animal Hospital has served the Roanoke Valley since 1954. Dr. Bennet Carraway was the hospital's founding father. One of Dr. Ricks' greatest honors was to have been mentored by him for four years before he took over leadership and ownership of the hospital. The hospital has a long and valued history of providing quality healthcare for the pets of the Roanoke Valley and Southside Virginia and has earned a well deserved reputation of excellence.
Located in northeastern N.C. along the scenic Roanoke River and Lake Gaston, Roanoke Animal Hospital is a certified American Animal Hospital Association member at the highest recognized standard of excellence. The hospital is a client centered practice using the concept of teamwork. The workload of the hospital is carried out by interdisciplinary teams working in concert with the doctors to focus on quality patient care and the best possible client service. There are monthly team and team supervisor meetings, monthly doctor meetings, and monthly full staff meetings. During each staff meeting, emphasis is placed on safety issues, team supervisor recommendations, and medical educational programs. Both Dr. Jarchow and Dr. Morris are compassionate professionals who are highly respected by Dr. Ricks, the hospital staff, and our clients. Our spacious, modern 7,000 sq. ft. facility includes 6 exam rooms, 2 surgery suites, a critical care suite, separate dog and cat boarding areas, and much more.
The hospital is a noted referral center throughout eastern North Carolina for orthopedic surgeries, internal medicine cases, and ultrasound imaging including echocardiograms. Compassionate pain management, junior wellness exams, senior wellness exams, and advanced dental procedures are routine and expected medical care procedures. Digital radiography along with a separate dental digital radiographic system puts Roanoke Animal Hospital's diagnostic interpretation ability on the cutting edge.
